Finite element method: A method used to simulate the courses of stresses, deformations, frequencies, heat flow, electromagnetism, fluid flow etc. on the created physical model. FEM is used primarily for inspection of already designed equipment or for determining the critical (most stressed) point of the structure (equipment).
